The 5th FOJO Festival of Music took place on Sunday 26th May 2019 at The Blue Note Bar and The Troubadour, Jersey.
Once again a fantastic day of music and friends was had by all. This event wouldn’t happen without the dedication and hard work of Shane Horgan who spends so many hours organising over 30 bands and time slots, equipment, etc to make sure the day runs smoothly. Thank you to Anoushka for all your support and for allowing Shane time out of the DIY!
Thanks also to Marcus and Carmel Butel from Youth Arts Jersey who ran the Blue Note stage for almost 12 hours solid. To Island Music for the loan of equipment to the Troubadour which was very much appreciated.
To Tomaz Tura who manages both venues and the bar staff who also worked 12 hours straight too. They also gave a donation of £1,000 to the buckets – amazing – thank you so much!
Fantastic work was done Holly, Elly and Lennon Horgan who all gave up their time to collect donations and Shane and Anoushka’s family and friends who gave up their time to help on the doors at both venues.
Finally, and most importantly, to all the musicians who gave up their time for free, expected nothing, turned up played great sets and want to return in 2020.
Musicians truly are a community of wonderful, talented people who have all in some way been affected by cancer whether its family, colleagues or friends and they will always do their utmost to support the FOJO Festival each year.
